Hi there, this may well have been covered in a previous post but my Neanderthal searching skills cannot find the answer to the problem I have. I am fortunate enough to have a new frame being prepared which will be ready next week. It's a Fargo/Vaya type affair (made by Tom Donhou) on which I'm planning to use a Middleburn 2 x 10 (42/27) chainset and Sti road shifters. The question I have is, what is the best front mech to use? I was thinking of a CX70 but I'm not sure if it will have sufficient throw, albeit the Middleburn has a modest chainline (47.5 mm). The other option is a 2 x 10 mtb mech (XT of similar) but looking at other posts on forums it appears that there may be a problem with the shifter not pulling enough to allow the mech to move the mech.

So, anyone had similar problems - perhaps Fargo/Gryphon riders - who can advise me of the solution to decent shifting?

Cheers, Windy
