Hi all,
You've probably gathered from my last three or four questions I'm building up a Solaris Max 2.
I've decided on a 29 fox 32 I had lying around (non boost 120mm fit 4 version).
And I've got some dt Swiss 350s with 650b rims dt xm481 front and ex471 rear I'm gonna use.
The attached photo is the 32 29er fork with a 2.35 magic Mary on the xm481 rim.
What do we reckon will fit? Maybe a schwalbe 2.6?
I've just picked up a near new Nobby Nic 2.6 addix off eBay so I'm wandering what to pair it with?
I was thinking maybe 2.6 Nic rear and 2.6 mary front?
Or considered putting the 2.6 nic on the front and buying a 2.6 rock razor for the rear?
I've got a few bikes but this one will get used for peak district rides and trail centres. I'm splitting and selling my big bike off and if I get on well with this I may not replace the trail bike. Needs to roll well for laps of places like Cannock and degla but also have grip in peak district slop.
Anyway I'm rambling
Q1) what do we think will fit in that gap as they are non boost?
Q2) do I go Nobby Nic rear Mary front? Or Nobby Nic front, rock razor rear?
Or some other combo that requires me to only buy one more tyre! (I hate the way they cost nearly the same as a car tyre)!
Sod it. I've ordered a 2.6 Mary. If it doesn't fit I'll have to buy new forks lol
Let us know how it goes, I'd be concerned about the BB height as mine's pretty darn low with 2.8in tyres on a 140mm fork.
I've got an odd 29in non-boost Pro4 / WTB Asym i29 front wheel here, if you're after a cheap fix to fit that fork BTW.
Cheers but I've ordered tyres now. My 650b wheels are really nice hence wanting to make this work.
What 2.8 tyres are you Running?
