Let's hope the team cars don't get affected by the delays in the channel tunnel..................

Watched from Upper Thames Street. Good atmosphere, dampened by the rain, not helped by the late start and delay on the expected arrival. without one or the other it would have been grand!

Great fun, though. We nipped in and out of the pub from half 1ish, watched the peleton flash past, then the team cars and the backmarkers no more than a minute or so behind, back to the office 60 seconds' walk away and came through the door to see the reception telly showing the final turn and the sprint up the Mall. Pretty swift trip through central London!

Amazing finish from Kittel, hit the front from so far out.

Went down to Finchingfield which was busy but comfortable. Was able to get the largest slice of cake I've ever seen from the cafe there.

Probably the first time a traffic cop has ever been cheered.

I would wager the TdF vehicles will get through the tunnel fine, would not want to be on a privately booked crossing though, back of the queue !

That was perfect from argos shimano. They are like HTC used to be with Cav and Renshaw.

I sat on high on the bridge above the Limehouse Link in East London

45 mins of rain and then suddenley the peleton through in 15 seconds, great atmosphere though. Just watching the highlights on Itv4 and could see myself sitting up there on the bridge ๐Ÿ™‚

I rode out to Epping forest, thinking it would be quiet(er). Fool.
Crikey they go like the clappers.

rode out to Finchingfield in Essex. 110 mile round trip for a 10 second glimpse of some cyclist's helmets... loved it.

What's up with Greipel? If I was his team I'd be properly pissed at being made to ride at the front the whole day and then he just backs out at the finish.

Not long since broken his collarbone, elbows out on wet roads? Meh!

Kittel was ridiculous really, they couldn't even come round 'im. Next flat stage will be Giant/Shimano's to control start to finish, why bother putting a man on the front when Kittel is that strong.

110 mile round trip

Good work! Puts my 60 second stroll from the office to AB1 to shame!

Possibly, but he was nowhere on Saturday as well even before the crash. Kittel's a monster (which is why he's in my team) but the rest of the sprinters seem pretty average, I was expecting a 3 way drag race between the 2 big Germans and can, as it is you could see kittel taking 6 stages or so this year.

Watched from Green Park, the crash really spread the field into the finish and the last riders received the loudest cheers. A fine 1-2 for my team. Can't see past Kittel on flat stages. I suspect that was what Sagan was thinking too.

Was on the roof of St John's College. Great fun but very fleeting.

Does anyone know how/where I could get an HD quality recording of the ITV highlights ?

We saw very little on the day but the camera angle coming in to the Palace was looking "straight at use" in from of the fountain.

I had a great day in Cambridge and London yesterday , the crowd in Cambridge was unbelievable but sadly couldn't get a decent viewpoint in London . Still a great day and easily one of the best Grand Departs ever. Despite living near Edinburgh I'm glad Yorkshire , Cambridge and London got the depart as It's hard to see how this could have been better supported.
Also It has to be said that Cambridge is a beautiful city and I will return.

Good to see from the above poor quality pic the faces of excited schoolkids and City Bankers enjoying the occasion.
