Aye but he left it late realman - inexperiance.

Had it been another 100ft he might have had half a chance

WTF is the Liquigas DS going on about in that interview:
"oh if Sagan had been on Cav's wheel into the final corner I think he would have won"

WTF?! Sagan was nowhere close. Stop being a sore loser.

Actually I think he got stuck behind EBH when he pulled off. Could put that down to inexperience, or just bad luck. If it hadn't have happened, he might have had it.. But I am thrilled Cav got it.

Maybe cycling will get its own tab on the BBC Sport page, or even a dedicated correspondent.

That was superb - very exciting finish.

Though it would seem most of the French don't agree judging by the comments on here.

No Lesley they aren't clapping your appalling national anthem, you stupid %^&**!
Can we please book the orchestra for when we will in next year.
The moment she opened her mouth all the dust in the room suddenly cleared.

If she is doing the anthems for the olympics we won't be winning any golds wouldn't want to hear that again

The French have a long history of messing up other folk's anthems. Don't think they have ever managed the NZ one properly. It's psychological warfare. That was particularly bad tho....
