Holy thread resurrection batman!
Today i have learned of 'dork discs'. Coool!
Awww, I was getting all excited about adding a pointless anecdote only to find I already did 8 months ago! What a letdown.
Holy thread resurection indeed.
I may as well use the opportunity to point out that I did take it off, and nothing of any interest happened at all.
*touches wood*
Good to hear the OP has taken it off else the fashion police would catch him on his next ride.
For anyone who still has one take it off immediately if you consider yourself an adult.
If your still riding a 20" wheeled child's bike then fair enough keep it on!
If I see anyone riding with one on a decent bike I might be forced to ride along side them and try to kick it off.
In 20 years of biking I have never needed one. Enough said.
I took it off the first bike i built myself, on the first ride out i shifted up the cassette and jumped over the largest sprocket and felt the chain rub against the spokes, thankfully stopped before trashing the wheel....therefore i would keep it on any bike i set up myself!....my latest bike is shop built and i took that one off, no problems so far.
