Is it possible to get a headset that allows a standard (non tapered)fork to be used in a frame which has a tapered head tube? I ask as I have some Talas RC2 36 with Tapered Stearer and the stanchions need replacing and I am struggling to find a tapered version.
Any help or advice appreciated, cheers
Yes, you can either get a custom Chris King Devolution from Aspire Velotech, with a standard upper cup, or Cane Creek do 'reducer' headsets.
cheers for that would still like some 160mm forks with tapered stearer but just cant find any
Lots more next year, although there's a few out there they've not really been imported into the UK.
Give Swinnertons in Fenton a call on 01782 747782. Ask for Craig. A mate of mine bought a Remedy off them a few weeks back and asked for Lyrics to be fitted. They might still have the tapered steerer set of original Foxes lying around. Alternatively they will sort you out with a step down headset.
