I know there are few tandem'istes on here and would like some advice......

Going to have a look at this tandem for about £300-350:

Orbit 531 frame, STX gearing/thumbshifters, V-brakes and a rear hub brake too. Looks to be in good nick, apart from a few little rust spots on the TT. Worth the asking price?

Cheers, Tom.

Has that got a brake for the rear rider as well? I thought that it was way too dangerous to have two people controlling the brakes...

Think the stoker has control of the hub brake. Hadn't thought about the safety aspects of that....hmmmm 😆

Yes, that's the one I'm going to look at!
Seeing it on sunday - just wanted some advice from any tandem riders about what to look for, etc. having never ridden one before.

Itsa fairly old I think and a rather basic bike. Hub brake is to be used as a drag brake on long / fast descents, Rim brakes for everyday riding.

That frame looks a bit flexy to me.

Maybe a bit less than £300 tho
Tandems do appear on http://www.tandem-club.org.uk/_sboard.htm
