marshy wetland all the way, deep streams or mud. Off limits 'til summer or a freezing winter day I'd say. Shame as it would have been fun!

I tried that route last year (around May time) and even though it had been dry, the whole moor was boggy and only just rideable in places. It didn't make for a great day out. My Dad and I didnt get back to Muker until well after dark (about 1030). That was a fun ride down into Gunnerside. Hmm. Lesson learnt.
On the upside, it was great up there at the beginning of October. Not that it helps.
