I might be being a bit thick here, so help me out please.
I've just bought a second hand pair of Talas off here, the seem to be pretty much as described, ie. in decent condition. But the travel reduction knob (100-120-140mm) doesn't seem to do anything. I've turned it and bounced up and down on the forks (as I do with my old Talas) but nothing seems to happen, they seem to stay at the 140 setting.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Anything I can fiddle with to fix it?
If you've bounced the fork and it hasn't reduced it, I think you may have a faulty talas valve. Had mine replaced under warranty at mojo. Not sure if they honour warranties on second hand forks you'll have to ask, oh and I think the warranty period is 2 years.
On my first service I was told that the forks had stopped working properly because the travel adjust hadn't been used - you're apparently supposed to change the travel every now and then in order to keep it functioning correctly.
Anyhow - don't know if it is that, or indeed if that is bull, but it sounds like you need to get them serviced.
Good point on warranty - I would not tell Mojo that you are the second owner.
