Really cool vid, I imagine that is going to be lots of fun when you both watch it back together! If I ever have a boy I'm doing this!!
Great stuff, makes me want a kid!
Bigben87 - I take it your video isn't up on the site yet?
That's a great video. My 3.5 year old seemed to be struggling with his balance bike but all of a sudden he's flying. ๐ Going to be getting him on pedals imminently..

It is up on the salsa cycles contest site. About 3 rows down or so ๐ Video submission ends at the end of the week and then they will pick the finalists!
Fantastic video Ben. My lad is also 4, and I took him to Llandegla, North Wales a couple of months after he'd learnt to ride. He loves us being out on our bikes.
It doesn't have to be your own child either.
Go out and play with young relatives (that's what we've done with our nephew) or friend's children, it's all good.
Absolutely brilliant video!
I have two boys who are 5 and 6. The 6 year old went straight off with no stabilisers but the younger one struggles a bit due to a hyper mobile hip... Going to show him your video and hopefully spur him on.
Keep up the great work!
Great Video! Going to dust off the wee-ride for my son this weekend! ๐

this is great, best vid i have seen in ages!!! i have finally got my son interested (he is also 4) in his bike. he has decided that he can wear my elbow pads as knee pads and this weekend we are taking his bike (sans cranks) to a local hill to learn to balance. this vid is really going to help with that so many thanks for posting it 8) 8)
I rode Swinley last night and bumped into a couple and their son on Stickler trail (endless burmed switchbacks), the mum was riding solo. The dad had his son on a seat over the top tube near the stem, feet in big solid looking metal stirups either side, and his own handlebars off his dads handlebars. Complete with skid lid. He looked really like he was having fun and his dad wasnt going slow on the way around, took a bit to catch them up.
His dad said they'd only had an over the bars moment once so far but really enjoyed Labyrinth descent too.
Complete respect.
