I know almost nothing about IT. I just wondered though, why hardly anyone tags their (or others') threads? Unless it's to take the mick.....
The occasional thread also pops up about how cr@p the search function is. Would serial tagging help this? Or does the search function work off the text in the thread anyway?

Tags, as displayed on the forums page, are normally used to highlight "hot" topics. However, the ones on STW seem to have no expiration period, so it's a bit useless.
