Is it tarmac all the way from Penrhos Cutting to the Bay? I want to do it on a road bike and would like to avoid any off road if possible. I picked it up at Penrhos the other day and took the high level to Castle Coch, it wasnt the end of the world, but it wasnt the best on a road bike either, are there any other sections like that going down to the Bay?

There are a few hard packed gravel sections between Castle Coch and the bay but plenty of road bikes use it.

Doable on 23mm thin tyres with care..potholes and poor repaired asphalt in places. Watch the open gutters in the Tunnel at end of HaileyPark #bunnyhop
