Since riding the W MX35's in Italy, i've been lusting over some of the 30mm wide rims for my 29 HT. Given the Euro being weak at the moment,I'm wondering whether to take the plunge. Love the ratchet hub and width to weight ratio. But - I used for a day.
Anyone running a set? and would they give me a signficant benefit over my current Arch's on Stans. Also, as good as the extra rim width is in summer, what about when you've a 2.0 mud x on in the winter slop?
any real world experiences gratefuly received!! Thanks
Not used one as narrow as that or in 29 flavour.
I have the W35 in 26" rear/650B front though.
Have also ridden the W40 rims
They are excellent rims, staying true despite some serious abuse.
The one issue I've had is that they don't seam to work well when used tubeless with Maxxis dual plys. They are brilliant with proper UST beaded Maxxis though, or anything Schwalbe.
I rate the hubs higher than Pro2, mainly due to the really effective sealing.
