Hi
I am changing my current 3x9 gears to 1x11, will
I need to add any spacers to the new crankset? I will be running a hollow core BB the existing chainset is an XT, new is an X1.
Cheers
The BBs are different between XT and X1, but the spacing should be the same. Some SRAM crank sets use additional washers to space out the cranks which XT doesn't.
stupid question, you have got a SRAM driver on the rear wheel?
Ok thanks for the advice.
I'm running shimano XT cassette and mech so it should fit current freehub fine
Daffy - just noticed your comment re BB. I have a GXP SRAM crankset, I thought that fitted a standard hollowtech BB?
No. GXP use different bb as the. Non drive side floats in the bearing alot easier to fit than shimano just need 1 8mm hex key. Also if bb 73mm wide no spacers required.
ok cheers colbck
Am I right in thinking you will need an 11-speed freewheel to the replace the 9-speed?
Just use your 3x crank.
11sp shimano fits standard freewheel
