As title says..

I went up there a couple of weeks ago and all the fun lines by Red #20 were shut, had fun exploring some of the other old trails but TBH I'd rather not bother if there's lots of closures still in effect, I quite like bashing round the official blue-red-blue loop, it's not really worth the drive for me otherwise...

So anyone been round today?

Not been today, but it was still closed earlier this week and the trails are scheduled to remain closed until the end of the month. Even then it is questionable what condition the trails up there will be in once the loggers have finished.

As I understand it, the area is getting thinned/logged and then there will be work to restore it including adopting some unofficial trails with improvements. Could be some time though.

Is it worth a trip over from Romford? Am down from Newcastle until Tuesday, not ridden there in about 18yrs and fancied it for nostalgia but if loads of waymarked stuff shut don't want waste my time.

Cheers, Niall

Hmmm,ย  think I will find somewhere else to ride then, maybe just head to the local woods instead...

Went yesterday. The Clubhouse trails (the ones referenced in post 1) are still closed. ย The work is not logging as such, but thinning as the unofficial trails in the area are being adopted (and I expect that the Crown Estate want to minimise bar/tree type accidents as it quite tight in some bits). ย They will then do some work on the trails.

Red 2 was also taped off, I suspect to let it dry out.

On the plus side all the Singletrack in Crowthorne, plus the cheeky off piste in Swinley was none dry.
