Has anybody been at Swinley forest over the last week. How are trail conditions?
Cheers
Tom
I haven't, but am willing to venture a guess that it is mainly underwater.
Was there Monday and Wednesday.
It's fair to say that it resembles Atlantis in some areas!
It normally holds up well but when I went there in the proper wet (post snow in fact) the surface had just dissolved and it was not very rideable.
Currently tipping it down 3 miles away
Expected as much. Dam "summer"!
It's a complete swamp. The ginger surfaced trails are riding well but the rest is a mess.

Swinley is always rideable.
I live just up the road from Swinley.
I have a singlespeed for winter duties and when the mud is bad enough to eat drivetrains.
I've just invested in a turbo trainer to keep riding this summer.
Read from that what you will.
Went last saturday - mental gloop in most places but was rideble - did three hours and was knackereed !
Has anyone ridden here last few days? What condition are trails? I dont want to make them worse. Am after somewhere non flooded to ride.
Thanks
I'd expect they're getting a lot better. Apart from a tiny shower yesterday we've not had rain for 3 days now. The local trails are dry, which usually means Swinley will be 90% dry.
I'm off there on Sunday as i've not ridden anything fun since getting back from the Alps.
Weeksy -Many thanks, sounds like its worth a visit, my local trail is a swamp.
Enjoy your ride!
Went round there last night, was surprisingly dry! ๐
Went round today, apart from by the lake and the usual 'wet' areas, it was superbly dry. Had an absolute blast there.
