[#5172829]

Hi All,

I swung by Bracknell forest (just parked up and mooched around without a bike) last weekend but couldn't find the new bike tracks. There was an old map with "mountain bike track" on it but not the new blue / green / red loops that I've heard about.

Does anyone know where I can find a map of them (I have an android phone so was wondering if there's such a thing as a google map overlay?) - in case I get lost I could resort to GPS! Or do you just follow the signs to "mountain bike track" and then follow other new signs further down the track?

Thanks,

Poiu

Yup, the new trails are all sign-posted.

If you are in the car park looking in the direction of the Lookout centre or bike shop, the trails are off to the right.

If you're in car park and looking at Go Ape.... look right, look past the Centre and they're over that way...

Or follow the 300 bikes per hour that are over there ๐Ÿ˜‰

The red trail is accessible either by fire roads or half way round the blue route. They could do with a few more sign posts on the red, but the general rule is keep going straight on if you get to a crossroads and there are no signs.

Yeah, they really need a clearer sign for the start of the red - I did 2 laps of the blue on Saturday and missed it both times.

I asked someone on my 3rd lap and he pointed it out to me when we passed the turn off (thanks if you were the guy on the Giant 29er I spoke to!)

However - the blue is an absolute blast, just get there early to avoide the crowds.

I had trouble finding the start, I went north from the lookout until I found a section and followed it round to the start. From the entrance you want to got to the right hand car park and run parallel to the road.

And I also missed the red signpost 3 times till I asked. The marker lines up behind a tree as you peg it round. Basically on the blue when you come to a post that splits the track into 2 options pick either branch but at the end of that section look to your left and you should see the marker for the red. Don't just turn right and belt down the fire road like I did.

I got lost several times on the red too....

Good though. Go early.

adsh - this week i'd expect it to be pretty quiet. I was out on Fri afternoon & only saw 4 or so other riders. Next week's 1/2 term so might get a bit busier, but probably mainly around the jump gully, babymaker & a couple of the faster bits of the red.

Anyone know the name of the blue section around marker 14?
It's the fast bit if that helps!

Did the blue three times and the red twice. For a coward with no sense of direction like me the place is great. Icould not believe the bike bling. Counted 2 sets of enve wheels one on a santa cruz tallboy ltc with xxi....... Nice bloke on it.

The place was getting very busy by 6pm
