[#5377166]

I have an interview in Swindon tomorrow afternoon so as is tradition I was thinking about sticking my bike in the back and going for a ride somewhere nearby. Obviously there's the woods behind Nationwide for getting really rad, but is there anywhere nearby worth riding? The Croft Trail looks pretty boring tbh, I get the feeling I'd rather have just got home early and went for a spin on the road bike! I'll have a couple of hours and I don't have a GPS navigator thing or an OS map.

The Ridgeway's not far away, plenty of stuff off there

Any suggestions for a quick and fun loop or something? I'll probably take my ss hardtail.

Ridgeway is pretty dull. There's some fun stuff over the Marlborough Downs but without a guide and being pushed for time you'll struggle to find it. Definitely look at Croft Trail. You'll find it opposite the Natiomwide HQ on Pipers Way.Croft Trail

Ah that's actually pretty much on the same road as my interview, so might as well give it a go I guess!

the good stuff...

There's loads of lovely riding up around Bishopstone, lovely natural singletrack etc, but as mentioned, without local knowledge you'd be hard pushed to find it, let alone link it together.

Of course, you could buy a map and plot out a little route yourself....
