Just converted my Pegasus to SS the other day. Most pleased, except it looks like I need a half-link to get the correct tension (running 32:19). Just wondering what ratios others are using and whether you find you need a half-link or not. Cheers & Merry Christmas ๐
32:18 no half link (swift though, 1 x 9 on the Pegasus)
cheers, that figures then.
32:18 was perfect on the flat & fast, but hard on the inclines so just had second ride on 32:20 & found it frustratingly slow on the flat stuff so 32:19 might be my best option.
(Singular Swift)
32:19 here on a Swift, only done a couple of rides on it but it feels right.
What tyres are people running? I've got a Panaracer Rampage on the front and a Maxxis Crossmark on the rear and it seems to have plenty of grip so far,
36/20 on the peg with half link ebb same on swift and gryphon too hope that helps
Merry Xmas
33:18 which seems to work pretty well round here.
But - you've got an EBB surely on a Pegasus? So you can just adjust it to take out the slack rather than messing around with half links?
Merry Christmas!
yeah, problem is it's a half-link EBB...so some combinations require a half-link in the chain too. I thought the Swifts had the same Phil Wood EBBs..? btw, on the strength of a fairly hilly ride on the Chilterns, I'd say the 32:19 is spot on for me (new to singlespeeding but regular rider).
swifts have a full size Phil EBB
ahhh ๐
Pegasus 32:18 but using a Gusset 3/32 half link chain anyway (cos it looks nice rather than any other reason)
