Not taking away any of the skill or ingenuity of those who've made some cracking films on gnarly, wet, techie self made, steep tracks, but they all without exception include some sort of full susser (normally built in Halifax) types.

Doesn't anyone who ride rigid feel the need to display their skills to the world. The reason I ask is that I ride rigid and do mainly uninspiring rides that wouldn't look as impressive as the above mentioned mentalists!

I'm happy to admit I'm shite. I have filmed a few vids when I was on bouncers but everyone included me binning it big time.

Most people ride rigid these days not to "sharpen their skills" but disguise the fact that they have no skill whatsoever, and to make them "more niche than thou". The fact is fast people tend to ride bikes them faster.

Nice vid, On a rigid careful line choice and 100% commitment/blind faith in your ability is all you need to ride just about anything, it may not be fast or graceful but it can still be fun.

There's a vid (was a vid - can't find it now) somewhere on youtube or maybe pinkbike of a few of us riding rigid ss round Laggan Black/red back in 06 and cleaning it....took me 4 attempts to clean the Devils Chessboard though as it was hard to pluck up the courage to hit it fast enough to keep up momentum, admittingly it wasn't he most graceful nor speedy video made of Laggan but still good fun, and i guess i was cheating as i had a 29'er front wheel which helped a lot on the bigger rocks.

After being off the bike for the past few years i'd more than likely baulk at every obstacle now and run away greeting, it's unnerving how quickly you lose confidence if you don't ride all the time.....it'll come back....I ****in hope so!

I don't think he's done any vids of it but watching Jesse Wigman on his rigid at fort william was ridiculous... 6 hours of it too. I reckon I could survive the world cup route on my rigid, but he beat 3/4s of the field ๐Ÿ˜†
