I've got a free day down in Swanage that i want to fill with a ride and i don't know the area very well. I have downloaded the Wiggle Hillasaurus Route, has anyone done that? Any better routes to follow that get the best bits?

Pop in and see Charlie The Bikemonger , his shop is in Swanage . Don't be surprised if his routes just happen to take in The Square and Compass at Worth Matravers ! 😜

My parents live down that way and when I visit I always end up doing a loop that starts in Wareham and runs out to St Alhelmes Chapel via bridal ways and then back down to Swanage via Worth (and obvs the Square) then up onto the ridge to Old Harry then down to Studland and back to Wareham through the RSPB nature reserve and Shipstall Point.

If you look on a OS map you can see a really obvious route taking in the cycle path and a very small amount of shady footpath.

The magazine that co-exists with this forum have covered the area several times. I'm pretty sure they are still in the archives. One was only a couple of months ago.

What day are you down there? Hoping to head down myself next week. I know the area well having been brought up there.

Depending on how keen you are, there's the Dorset Gravel Dash route - starts and finishes in Swanage, organised by  said Bikemonger.

I'm sure you can find a gpx on the internets.
