hi
gf bimbles along with me sometimes, fit but doesn't like anything techie atall, and recently (after long dry spell) been whinging about bumps/roughnesss (bike is myka front sus only) - e.g on rear tractor wheel ruts/horsed/animaled and dried tracks etc, due to her being tiny getting a full sus secondhand at a decent price isn't likely so I was wondering if one of the plug in suspension posts would make a positive difference
anybody tried that ? thanks
Yes, decent suspension post will be ideal for that.
I have USE shokposts on two hardtails, takes out the worst of the rocky, rutted trails, Adjustable for how much bounce you want and for different rider weights.
I found the "alien" fixings a right pain, the "sumo" ones are far better. Not cheap but they work. About 40mm total travel I think.
Probably have to shim it up to fit the frame, so check the sizings.
+1 for the use posts.
It's not much, but takes the edge off the hits. Saved my back a lot pain over the years.
We use an old suntour suspension seatpost on the back of the tandem and it works a treat.
Like this but an old one

but I picked up ours for a couple of pints off a mate
Not sure on the price difference there days, but also look at the Thudbuster, in either LT or ST (LT better for the easily injured), very easy to set up for weight, but best to check that there is one suitable beforehand (very easy to do).
Cheers.
I use thudbuster, wife uses USE XCR, Thud is better for really rough but more expensive, USE ok for less bumpy. Have been looking at Suntour, havent tried but looks like a good middle ground option.
Thread revival... any thoughts or experience of the Suntour suspension seatpost:
