[#4426372]

I put this together a couple of years ago after going through hours of footage that we took in 2001-2002. It's mostly Surrey Hills with a few other bits thrown in and is mostly freeride stuff. It was all filmed on mini DV cameras and a plug-in Sony helmet camera.
Be warned, it will take 20 minutes of your time and the quality isn't much compared to the HD stuff now, but may be of interest and hopefully entertain a few of you. Have only given the link to a few people up until now so go easy, just thought I'd share it. I hope you enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

Excellent, thanks for posting. Nostaligia isn't what it used to be !

Interesting to see what's remained the same and how much has changed. I was just showing a friend of mine this weekend the drops above the gully from the top Pitch car park and the lines people used to take "in the old days"

Superb! Really enjoyed them, thanks jim76...a real blast from the past. The destruction of the Surrey Shore was, sadly, not long after I bought my first "proper" mountain bike and started exploring the hills and the riding available up there, so I never got to ride it ๐Ÿ™

Awesome, thanks so much for posting. some great history...

Great riding 8)

Still bits of the Holy trail nailed in the trees if you look up as you ride down Rad Lane.

Great to see
Welcome to Surrey (nasty)
Caution steep slope (that tree has broken quite a few collar bones)
sleepy hollow and the tech log roll
Cliff Richard

So that was the shore in the middle of Pitch that got ripped down in about '04?

Cliff Richard: we always thought it was named that because you needed to believe God was on your side ๐Ÿ™‚ Didn't that go out of bounds around the same time too?

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it ๐Ÿ˜€

Yep, there's a few bits of Tilgate in there. The Holy Trail and the drops on Rad lane were taken down in 2003.

What trail is known as Cliff Richard ? We originally named Caution Steep Slope "the Jubilee line" as we built it on the queens jubilee and it was 50 foot air time in total if you hit all 3 parts quick enough, but when someone put the "caution steep slope" sign there it just kinda fitted so it got that name.

The stuff on Leith which also features was known as the Hidden Sphincter trail. We didn't build that but it also got taken down at around the same time.

There's also a couple of bits of the Leith Landslip and Pirbright - that stuff got chopped too.

Daddy, will you be out Sunday morning ? I'm gonna head up Pitch.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yeah, the almost vertical looking bit IIRC!
