now i am a big dog lover, owned a few over the years and on occasion ride with my lurcher or springer. Now on sunday sat at the tower on leith hill having a cuppa mid ride noticed a group of 3 ride off from there with 6 dogs in tow!! i think tbh thats to many in a honey pot area and it was way to hot to be out with dogs. true i dont know how far they had come or were going, but really!!

I ride with two dogs from time to time - but usually in very quite area of Dartmoor where I live, if its busy then I would give it a miss! So my point really is that 2 dogs per person is not too many if at the right place.
It all depends on how well trained the dogs are
I was riding along the local old railway. Saw a chap with half a dozen dogs all off lead. He spotted me and with a couple of words all the dogs were stationary out of my way. Very impressive.
Well trained and under control is fine
