I have a longstanding itch for a new steel hardtail that really needs scratching.....

Do fancy a Krampus but the Wednesday (with a second set of 29" wheels) appears much better value.

Anyone had one? I'd run it rigid with the fat wheels for local fun and the bigger hoops for all dayers, possibly a bit of off road camping.

Good idea?

Lots of other bikes appeal too, Kona Unit X, Solaris Max etc, but the Wednesday seems a flexible, fun option.

I had a Pugsley for a while and it’s is brilliant at that rigid steel ‘thing’. Would highly recommend trying one - they seem to hold value fairly well too for what it’s worth.

My wife has a Wednesday (in full fat mode) - pretty heavy especially with the stock steel forks. Lots of mounting bosses - it's "an adventure bike" after all - adjustable dropouts if that appeals.

Bruce aka Coastkid on here has run his Wednesday in many guises, blutos, dropper, 29 plus, 650 plus, 4" fat and fatter. Loads of info over on his blog page: http://coastkid.blogspot.com

Besides the wider bb, the geo is v similar for a Krampus. If I didn't have an Ice Cream Truck and a Krampus, then I'd probably have a Wednesday.

I have had both a Wednesday and Krampus and enjoyed both. The Wednesday with 4.3"Edna's tubeless was more smiley fun but the Krampus was far better on longer rides and when riding with others on non fat bikes. So if I went again I'd go Wednesday with 2 wheel sets. Going tubeless makes a big difference and was painless with Mulefut rims and Surly tape.
Damm, that's started me thinking!
