[Closed] Surely i can run a 10sp chainset with 9-speed drive train... RIGHT?

Cant seem to find an abundance of '9-speed' chainsets..
Shimano SLX 10-speed should be no worries with my existing 9-speed drivetrain, right?

Cant see a reason? Can you?

This is an increasing problem as they "upgrade" the components cause you can only buy them cause they stop making the old ones. Can't say if it is a issue or not, the 10 speed chains are narrower than the 9 speed ones so at worst the teeth might be narrower too I suppose?

It works (for me!) - running 2 bikes with everything 10speed other than the chainrings, which are 9speed.
