[#2916107]

I need a replacement spoke for the right side of my Stan Flow 26" on Hope Pro 2 (NOT Evo) 20mm axle front wheel. I checked DT Swiss spoke calculator using the these specs (Rim ERD 536, Hub Flange PCD L56, R54, Centre to Flange L19.5, R34) and it came up as a 245mm.

However, I cannot find anyone in the UK/Europe selling 245mm DT Swiss Competition spokes. I am off to the Alps soon so cant order one from the US.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

That sounds way too short. I'd be guessing around between 256 and 260.

To give you an idea, Flows on Stans own 20mm hub have 258/260 spokes:

Thanks for checking this out walleater. I did think 245 sounded really sort too.

I just ran the Stans specs through the DT Swiss calculator and they came out at L243 R244!

Wheel Pro calculator came up with L257.8 R259.2 for the Stans specs, which is at least close to Stan's own specs list.

http://www.damonrinard.com/ Excel spoke calculator came out at L258 R259.4

Maybe DT Swiss calculator is flaky (cant imagine it, but still...)

Hell, Im going to just take one of the existing spokes out the wheel and measure it!

Thanks again.

DT Swiss calc gives 258 left 260 right for me with the dimensions above (which are correct as far as I know). Only way I can make it say anything like 245 is by setting it to 1x lacing instead of 3x. Still, always worth trying a couple of different calculators before buying spokes in my experience.

I just tried again (using FF 3.6 and anonymous usage) and still got the same result? See http://www.flickr.com/photos/64897628@N04/5908306715/in/photostream

Can you see what I'm doing wrong?

You have the diameter of the spoke hole as 32mm. Change that to 2mm and see what happens.

Doh! What a muppet. Thanks Mister P.

Next question...anyone know of a supplier of single spokes with low/zero postage? Cheapest I've found was All Terrain Cycles - http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/5443.html - but postage is 4 quid, for a single spoke. Guess Im a cheapskate 🙂

I know one of my LBS (George Halls in Market Harborough) seems to have any spoke you could ever need.
