has anyone had any problems fitting nano flats to their cranks. I have just fitted a pair to my middleburn RS7 cranks and found the tread extremely tight. Yes they were on the correct sides and they were not cross treaded but they do seem to have damaged the thread of the crank judging by the flakes of aliminium on the pedal threads when I took them back out. I would like to say that the quality of the rest of the pedal is not in question, they look pretty good and wiegh nothing.

Never had a problem with mine - with Deore cranks.

Are they new cranks? It's fairly common for a new steel thread to chase out some metal from an old alloy thread, they can distort a little. See it all the time on motorbike spindles etc, and cranks have a much harder life. Not neccesarily anything to worry about.

I had a similar problem with one side of my Hone cranks but persevered and it went in eventually (with no damage beyond a couple of tiny flakes of metal). They have been solid ever since - maybe down to damage from previous pedals?

Northwind, yeah that would make sence. The cranks are pretty old, about 7 years actually. I'll forget about it and enjoy the ride.
