but cant for the life of me remember if I paid extra for lockrings or if they were supplied in the price? (black).
they have a 'grip builder' option but im wondering if this is purely for different colour options?
anyone know?

Yeah the £8.99 ones you linked to are with lockrings and plastic end piece. Further down the grips list is the Excel replacement cartridges
