Hi,
Can't see a weight, but I'am guessing the carbon rims make up for it in stiffness rather than being superlight. Not sure I trust the strength of the rims though! 😕
Thanx

Too expensive for my money, I'd either get pukka ones, or build my own on Chinese rims (which is all they've done I'll wager) for half the price.

£400 using Chinese rims they'd be spot on!

Rims are 360g each I think which is 20g more than Crests.

Just been out on my new own build cheap chinese wide carbon rims from light-bicycles and they are sweeeeeeeeet. Cost £220 for the pair of rims and are super easy to build up true as was my first build. They weighed 372g each rim and are as wide as Flow's. Can't recommend them enough if you fancy carbon wheels and have a little time on your hands to build them up. Mine are on CK hubs with Sapim CX-ray spokes and brass nipples weighed in at 1600g for the pair of wheels which I think is good as CK hubs aren't light.

Exactly.

Superstar and carbon what could possibly go wrong

EXACTLY.

Why spend £699 on some potentially dodgy 1,800g carbon wheels when you can spend a lot less on some lighter and proven alu wheels? You can get the new American Classic AM wheelset for £450 online and they're 1,600g.

The over riding response from those who've used carbon wheels is that it's not about the weight. To answer the op's question there's no danger I'd use superstar carbon wheels.

Quite a few assumptions in this thread, makes sense to wait and see what they actually come out with. Then you can start talking about octopi 😉

Recently built up some non-exploding Chinese carbon rims with DT 240s hubs. They came in a smidgen over 1500g and are stiffer than a stiff thing. Total cost about £500. Not the cheapest or lightest but had to scratch the carbon itch.
