[Closed] Sunset Bikes or MTB Monster anybody used them?

Sunset cycles - I got my Orange four from them (locally not on online). They were great to deal with, have also sorted any problems I had with the bike very swiftly.

I've bought 2 oranges online from Sunset.
I had an issue with the Kore dropper post on the second one.
Called them on the phone & they swapped it for a replacement with no quibbles.
I'd happily use them again.

I bought a Kona Lave Dome from Sunset back in '92...

It's one of the regulars from here from Sunset? Seem to remember he always come across as a helpful chap.

Bought my Clockwork Evo from Sunset - very helpful and pleasurable to do business with, I definitely use them again.

I too bought a Lava Dome from Sunset in the early 90's. And more recently an Orange P7. Would use them again without hesitation.

I’ve purchased a Ripmo AF from Sunset and they’ve been really helpful. I wanted the raw frame with air shock in large but they only had one with a coil, but they have kindly taken an air shock off of one of their other Ripmo AF for me. They are snowed under at the minute. So it’s a couple of weeks wait for them to build and ship. I was ok with the wait though as they’re one of the few places left in the UK with them in stock so just pleased to be able to get my hands on one.

I've had a Orange Segment and P7 from Sunset in the last 4 years and they've always been great to deal with. Quick to post, great comms, always someone at the end of the phone to answer questions and any emails responded to promptly, including during lock down. First place I look when pondering a new purchase.

Sunset are my lbs of choice, have been for nearly a decade now. Great bunch of lads and they have recently moved to a bigger premises with a massive pump track out front with a few trails planned too!

Wouldn't have any worries at all using them.

I like Sunset, good shop helpful people and some of the staff have worked there for as long as I've been in Cardiff so 25 years or so. Great place to buy a bike and they are helpful in the shop but I have to say historically not as good as Cyclopedia when you want just that odd bolt or fixing or small obscure part. But they came good the last couple of times so maybe better recently.

Used Sunset-Cycles of Cardiff a few times and never had reason to complain; only bike shop I will use or recommend.

I got my current bike from MTB Monster, they sorted out a warranty issue quickly and without issue

They are local to me and are the only bike shop I use.

Sunset are good, had a couple of frames from them over the years. Always the best prices in the UK on Orange it seems.

MTB monster local to me a and always been really pleased with the service.

I've bought from sunset before and would recommend them, bought a spesh endure many years ago. Glad to see that they are still going!

I bought a Kona frame from them late 90s and it arrived damaged, sent another straight away.
Can't remember who it is on here that's something to do with them as well.....

looks like either will be fine, might come down to availability, which will be tough in the current circumstances.

Sunset were good for me when I bought an Orange from them. Set up the bike tubeless for me on request and chucked in a free chain stay protector.

Sunset are very good, fast, helpful,& usually have a deal on..

My Ripmo came from MTB Monster. Took ages to come but that was nothing to do with the shop, who kept me informed all the way along.

Collected it in person and had a good chat with a lot of the staff. Seems a great shop with knowledgeable people and a good selection of stock and spares etc.

Would buy from them again in an instant.
