Can anyone recommend a set of breathable glasses that don’t wobble all over your face up and down?
I’ve got some smith wildcat and I’m forever putting them back up bridge of my nose - so irritating as they move when descending too and rattle against my helmet
im not bothered about size of lens as long as they stay put
I’ve tried the different pads that come with them but still the same
Any one else had this problem?
Been useing melon optics kingpin with photochromatic lens, been great and they don't move at all on my face shape.
Like any other glasses the arm length needs to be a good fit, so the 'behind-your-ear' hook keeps them in place. If the frames are acetate you can warm them with a hair dryer and bend them to suit
If they've got straight arms I guess the nose pads need to be somehow grippy
melon alleycat, perfect
sungod Tempests here. Don’t move on my face or stowed in my helmet vents (giro aether)
I find wrap around glasses just steam up so prefer something a bit more open.
plus I can wear them off the bike without looking a bit special..
Bought "glasses straps" off amazon (thought I was buying one.. pack of 6) to keep my spare (crap) glasses on while I had my normal one reglazed.. cheaper than new sunnies
I've been using the Banana Industries ones for a few months now and not had a single issue with them moving. Cheap, multiple lenses etc. I do have a massive swede though...
You can buy sticky silicone nosepads on amazon also silicon arm grips too. Cheap as chips and work well even if you're a sweaty
Another vote for Alleycats
I suggest just oscillating less wildly.
😉
It's probably a fit thing. I've got some cheaper RockBros ones that move around. I think they are "asian fit" which is probably the reason. My nicer glasses are rock solid. Needn't be POC/Oakley prices. Very happy with my Tifosi ones but my next pair will be another set of Ekoi. Got them at an event (along with a helmet at a bargain price). Really nice kit. I obviously have an Ekoi shaped head. They sponsor world tour riders so must be good/have a big marketing budget. They don't move and site nicely away from my face so sweat and fogging is not an issue.
I have a set of Sutros and a set of Jawbreakers. Neither moves at all from the start to the end of any typical ride.
Just about any plastic framed glasses can be adjusted with hot air gun.
I have Madison Cypher glasses. They've been very stable and comfortable. The nose piece is adjustable which probably helps.
Not sure if they still do these but you used to be able to get straps that held sunglasses(and glasses) tight to your noggin.
They would fit onto the arms, and go around the back of the head so they wouldn't fall off while doing strenuous activity.
I got a pair out the boat chandlers, which were great so you didn't lose your eyewear over the side.
I use clear lens oakley deptcord. Nice shape, hug my face and oakley were outing them for 35 quid
I'm quite a fan of Rudy Project Rydon glasses as both the nosepiece and temples are adjustable (bendable) to get an optimal fit. So far they've stayed put even when I'm quite sweaty.
Like folks have said, it’s mostly a fit thing. I’ve found the glasses that move around least for me tend to be close fitting. This approach may not provide the kind of ventilation you’re also looking for.
my current favorites I only considered because of a favourable review and article on STW some while back. Julbo ‘whoops’ and a similarly-style pair with a bit more coverage. One pair has polarized and photochromic lenses, the other photochromic.
both stay put fairly well when things get rowdy. The Julbos have stayed put in several uncomfortable offs.
in cold weather both are prone to steaming up a bit on the climbs.
Before that, some old Oakley Flak Jackets were pretty grippy.
I guess this is going to be a very personal thing due to head and face shape, but I've had no movement issues with either Adidas Evil Eyes or Melon Kingpins. The latter are way better in terms of breathability IME.
