Hi there,
Been slowly upgrading/replacing worn out parts on my bike and have had to replace the rear mech hanger
When I fitted the new one I realised just how twisted/ out of line my rear mech is
As this is one of the few original components left on the bike I'm going to replace it, just not sure what with
My current mech is a shimano XT M772 shadow 9 speed, not sure with cage length but measures 100mm between jockey wheels (is this the easiest way to tell which I have?)
I want to replace with something at least as good, I'm running an XT rear cassette if that makes any difference?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,
Many thanks in advance

I'd stick with an XT mech...

Med cage if your on 2x9 or 1x9. Long if you're on 3x9.

In my opinion, of course!

Cheers Conan, that's probably what I'll end up doing
Quite like it when new bits are obvious though

A new XT will definately work as well as or better than an old, mangled XT ๐Ÿ™‚ TBH XTR isn't much better, and is just as bendable. I like bike jewelry but I'll not have a mech above X9/XT because they're so vulnerable.

TBH Deore working well will probably be better than what you have now.

New XT no good as it's 10spd and won't work. You need to stick with 9spd XT or SLX.

New 9-speed I meant. Sorry, thought that was obvious but you're right, stands being clarified.
