[#5494347]

for reasons that I won't go into.... a mate wants a 29er with rigid forks. I could, of course, buy a HT and swap the sus fork for a rigid but I'd prefer to keep things simple.

Frame material isn't a big issue btw.

Any ideas?

Cannondale do quite a handsome trail 29er but it's SS

'dale also do the bad boy 29er but that's over budget...

I'm sure I read somewhere the 'dale will take a gear hanger. But buying all the bits to convert probably zaps the VFM.

the 'dale will indeed take a mech hanger but unfortunately it doesn't have cable stops, so you'd need to run a full length gear outer zip-tied to the frame, which is a pity.
