Pull the sister?

No ta, nice girl, but I wouldn't... 11 year age gap between them, she has 2 kids, probably not got much in common... Oh, and she talks... Like I mean REALLY talks... Usually not a problem for me cos I like a girl with something to say, but considering English isn't even her first language you struggle to get a word in!

Or is she a hockenmoose?

Nah, but her younger sister (the one I was seeing) is a country mile clear in that department...

LOL...

My list of requirements is getting shorter and shorter... Pretty much my only requirement in a woman is Consistency these days. A woman that wants the same thing next week as she did this week (ie. ME!)...

But seeing as a woman that knows what she wants is impossible (let alone one that is consistent in what she wants!), I'll stop worrying about it, and go ride my bikes some more... 😉

^Calm down Barbara just joshing.

(not sure that I wasn't calm in the first place but...)

OK Diedre, sure thing! 😉

Have I missed something? I thought it was a singles' networking ride - not speed dating.

call it what you like, a social networking ride, a meat market, a line up, speed dating on wheels....the name is just a name.

What it is is a ride for primaarily single people to coe and meet aleigh...oops I mean to come and meet others 😉

Would somone like to direct karinofnine to the lead in thread...it will explain. The thread was rstarted as the other got....... a little fruity.

LOL

Who exactly?

Think you might be confusing a few guys who know each other already, taking the piss out of each other, as something much deeper! 😉

Oh, I made a mistake. I didn't realise you were kidding each other. Not off-putting to me, because I have decided to come along, but could it be off-putting to other females who also mistake your joking for something else?

Sorry 😳

Seriously though, should I manage to make it to this ride, it will be to ride my bike, see some old friends, hopefully make some new ones, and to have a laugh... What anyone wants to call the ride concerns me not!

C_G, Aleigh and a lot of the others know me well enough now that I'm taking the piss (always accompanied by a 😉 I might add)...

Yes, it's going to be just like any other STW ride. No issues with that because the ones I've been on have all been great fun 🙂 The speed dating thing made me lol, speed is one thing I've never seen on one of our rides apart from the hand to the cake tin.

Look on the bright side Mark, plenty more time for riding. I'm likely to be a bit hungover for this one, so if I don't recognise you, shout at me 🙂

Calm down everyone please! Take a deep breath, exhale then smile 😆

It's singletons social networking and the only rule is to have a good time 😀

I still have absolutely no idea of how many are coming so if there are any peeps who know Swinley and would be prepared to help out, please post up or email in profile.

Depending on numbers we may need to split into groups so leaders and sweepers are required. Bananaworld has kindly offered to help out but some other volunteers would be really useful.

It's going to be such a fun day 8)

LOL, you probably didn't want to tell me that... I'll bring my extra loud voice especially!

Elaine, will gladly sweep again. Can't offer to lead as don't know the trails obviously.

Thanks Mark 😀

I'm obviously sorry that you are coming but you know that I mean that in the nicest possible way. Shame it didn't work out for you though. If it's any consolation, some of us women don't understand ourselves sometimes 😳

for balance i think there should be an STW attached/married/henpecked/perfectly happy ride organised otherwise it's a bit discrimatory

This sounds like fun... I'd like to come along if there is public transport (ie train station) nearby.

Looking at the map is Bagshot train station any use or is it miles from the meeting point? How about Ascot?

ally - Martins Heron is the nearest, there will be some STW'ers coming that way. It's around 3 miles from Swinley.

Bagshot is indeed close but you would have to ride through the Forest and it would not be easy to give you directions!

Hi C_G. The ride was good. There were three of us, which is ok considering the very short notice and the conditions. It was a lovely day, the tracks were mostly not too bad considering, but the ones that were bad were very bad. One place where you have to cross 100m of field was just horrible and the bikes clogged up completely so we pushed. Next time I'll give more notice and when it's drier. A couple of people said they were interested, but working, so maybe next time they'll be free too.

CG, i've ridden Swinley once and know it really badly....i'm happy to sweep up the rear so to speak.

I have gained some 3/4 lengths just to show off my butt, this is in favour of the pink thong option which i think you'll agree is a good idea given the time of year....

C_G - I will.

Actually, I've got an idea brewing here for a bike fest, arrive Hertford Camping & Caravanning Site Friday afternoon/evening, get set up and meet. Saturday rides for different tastes - maybe we could ask about the local 'shore (may be a charge, don't know), there could be xc rides in the woods, along the river towpath rides, or along the Cole Green Way for those with children/trailerbikes. Saturday evening BBQ music chat dance and generally get trolleyed, Sunday stagger round blearily and make your way home.

Does STW ever meet up down at Swinley on a non singleton basis?? I would quite like to have a guided/knowledgeable blast around there. I always seem to be lost.

sharki - it will be good to see you again but please please please leave the thong in the Q's 🙄

karin - that sounds a terrific idea! Is there any B & B nearby for a wuss? Could I just mention that some STW'ers are not lightweights in the alcohol department 🙄

Tiger - may end up organising another Swinley ride in Spring time. Am totally dependant on the lovely STW'ers to step forward and help with guiding and sweeping though. I'm certain they will step up to the mark again so keep checking the Forum 8)

I'll leave the thong then..sorry for all the hopefulls....well one at least..that's me!

I'll have words with the idiots i know who know the forest but they are lucky enough to have city wages which have gained them wives girl friends or other gullible types making them un-single, but for non singleton porposes i think they may step up and provide.

As for the Herts idea....could be a good promo chance for the already successful and awesome service that http://www.ukbikeskills.co.uk/index.html provide..

C_G - Yes, Hertford is very close, Hotels and B&Bs there.

Sharki - I did kind of have UK Bike Skills in mind, but I have not spoken to them as the idea is only half-formed in my mind. I don't know whether they need any help, I thought it was a success anyway, but I will email them and see what they think.

The 'Swinley Conditions' thread makes for disturbing reading - what implications might it have for this ride...?
