[#6780624]

Hi folks,
on my old bike the rear skewer wasn't quick release, a good old long bolt and a nut.
On my new bike, I have a quick release skewer.

Anyway, I went to fit the attachment for my daughters trailer and can't tighten it enough due to the quick release mechanism getting in the way so....... would it matter at all if I were to simply put the skewer through the other way so the quick release mechanism is on the cassette side?

Haven't tried it as bike not with me, can't see any major problems with the idea and it may be a daft question but if you don't know something then ask is my philosophy! Asked my biking mates, one said yes, the other said no so none the wiser.

Thanks in advance, Den

as long as it doesn't foul the mech it'll be OK IMO - make sure you check the range of motion of the mech rather than just static when fitting

I never know which way to put the QR so I just do it randomly whenever I clean/regrease it.

I haven't died yet so I think you'll be OK.

Exactly what I do, and yes the lever can interfere with the mech but its an easy fix rotating and checking.

Thanks for the replies folks, much appreciated.
I'd much rather ask than knacker the bike/me!
