My mate has a Stumpy carbon and the headset is creaking like nothing else.
I've taken it apart and noticed that the bearings sit in side a steel cup that is just loose in the carbon head tube.
I assume this cup is meant to be loose and held into place when the stem is torqued.
Any ideas on how to get rid of the fabled carbon creak?
I think it bothers me more than him!

The cups in mine don't move or come out as far as I've noticed?

Ah may be a trip to lbs in order then.
The bottom bearing cup drops out when I take the forks out leaving just the carbon headtube.

I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen, can't imagine it's a hard fix. Mine certainly doesn't drop out
