I've just had a visit (not cold calling) from a guy with an outfit called the Student Support Centre, offering a DVD based Maths and English course for my son , to take him all the way from P7 to Standard grades. Not cheap but looks interesting - but then of course it does, he's selling it! So I just wondered - anyone heard of them or used them. I've seen some very mixed review on tinterweb, wondered if any of you lot have any experience?

What's wrong with schools? Is it supplemental or instead of school?

Entirely supplemental. Not expecting miracles but the nipper does need additional help, and this seems like a structured but not overbearing system. So, anyone actually used it?
