Managed to get my lockring tool wedged in place on my new wheel. I think it might be stuck on the freehub body.

Any helpful or hilarious suggestions on how to get it free? I don't have a vice and would like to get it moved so I can ride on it tomorrow.

Heat?
WD40?

I assume you've shouted at it?

I do this every time. Just wriggle it loads and it'll come off.

Just widen the drop-out, will be fine...

Get a proper purchase with a small monkey wrench / mole grips and carefully wiggle it side to side.

(How) did you manage to remove it?

Do this all the time. Just use a hammer and knock it out on alternate sides.

Surely that's just to show us your shiny bits? Wiggle it about. It'll come off.

Shiny though!

I went to bed. Have tried wiggling it so a bit more agression with a hammer might be the way this morning. Doing some lunges and press-ups to warm up.

Rubber mallet usually does the job when it happens here.

Doing some lunges and press-ups to warm up.

One off the wrist would probably have been a more task specific warm up for this job.

A vice would be ideal. Maybe you have a neighbour with one you can borrow for a minute?

Moral of this story, own a vice.

Put your chainwhip back on and turn it as if you were undoing it.

Well, after this happened:

I decided to try and remove the freehub to see if I could attack it from the inside. Managed to twist it out that way.

Have bought a new freehub tool as it's cheaper and quicker than building a workbench and buying a vice.
