all i have left to buy to move from ss to 9speed is a chain. im looking for a good strong chain. not bothered about the weight but dont want it to be too expensive. is there anything better than this???

Kmc x9 in my experience is cheaper and lasts better than than sram.

[edit] read the question back to front.

KMC, majority oppinion in our club is they last longer than SRAM and come with a quick link unlike shimano.

I'm about to get the hg53 one from crc , only change them when worn and never had one snap and at 9.99 it's a bargain. Also I use a SRAM power link not the shimano pins to make removal easier.

wippermann connex - use them on all my bikes they really do last longer

connex link is the easiest quickling to use as well. got to hand it to those germans..
