to cut a long story short, bought a bike off ebay the guy very kindly delivered, wasnt a massive ammount of money so just paid up and he was on his way.( lesson learned check before you pay)

just given the bike a once over and found that both the threads on the maxle are badly chewed and the threads on the lowers are virtually non existent, as such the maxle cannot be secured in the fork.

my question is can i buy a new maxele and get the lowers helicoiled ? or have i got to buy a new set of lowers and a new maxle ?

this is a new one on me so help appreciated.

i would imagine you could easily use a large bolt and bushing to secure it tbh- would be fugly and heavier than a maxle but cheaper than new lowers

As to repairs not sure you need Loco for that one
