Cable-drive things do crop up regularly - the only one that makes much sense to me is the one used on rowbikes.

we say that in case of an average usage the strings last for up to 2000-5000 kilometers

That's about three months usage. A sealed chain will last a lot longer and require much less maintenance. Wait till you need to change a rear wheel.

Dyneema is incredible stuff. Use if for all sorts of things.
Not this though.
Can't fit disk brakes
Looks like a small lump of dirt would trash it.

They seem to focus a lot on 'simplicity', but when the image next to the text looks like this...
