Is there a way to get someones segment removed? There's a leaderboard with a ridiculous time at the top and the overall route registers a Max speed of 78mph. Not an impossible speed I'm sure, but very unlikely?

Just flag it mate and it'll be removed, it's getting more common now where people are doing it. Many a segment I have lost due to people on motorbikes and in cars..

I think strava should create different options, so that motorbike users can still use strava without conflicting with cyclists.

somehow I don't think that will ever happen! With all these cutbacks there's no way we could afford to pay enough people to go around mopping up dead bikers all day long

It's more the case of people forgetting to switch of their device after a ride which causes these anomalous results.

What would the point in having a version for motorbikes be? (were talking KOM here) unless your looking at track racing, it would just encourage road racing, which will all end in tears.

You could say the same about walkers, but nobody does.. motorcyclists trying to get fastest times and crashing into cyclists, is the same as cyclists trying to get fastest times and crashing into walkers.

could be quite the challenge to average exactly 60mph over set course. other than that it would dangerous and pointless though it never stop some idiots posting movies of their 150mph+ exploits on youtube.

Not wishing to Hijack but was wondering why segments constantly disappear , I've created a few that show up one day then not the next ?. Is it down to the GPS device you use. ?

Apparently I hit a max speed of 148.7 kmh yesterday and rode 120km, not the 65km it looked like on a paper map. 65k in 5.5 hours is a bit more realistic for me than 120k. Managed a KOM with an average of 45kmh uphill!

I can beat that.

On my phone today after an hour I'd covered over 206,000miles.

I think something went wrong.

If you forget to turn it off in the car after a ride you should crop it to show your actual ride.

But I'd be more interested in removing rubbish segments that people have created. Some places just seem to be overrun with them and I feel Strava will become a victim of it's own success.

I've managed to record an average of 70+ mph on my road bike, the GPS hadn't locked when I set off and the speed sensor was using an incorrect wheel diameter. My normal 10.5 mile ride was recorded as 60+ miles. It was deleted off the web as an useless workout.

Cheers, I'll see if I can find a flag button - had a hoke around yesterday for it on while on the phone but nothing was jumping out.

You'll find segments disappear when someone creates it to see how fast they are and as soon as Strava populates the leader board with all other riders they end up toward the bottom. So they delete it

you need to have ridden a ride before you can flag it..
