Recording a ride on my garmin forunner tells me 50k, amd same when I load it on garmin connect
same GPX file on strava is 44km, looks like the first 6 is missing
also avergage speed was the same between the 2 but max speed was 38.9 on strava and 34.9 on garmin

Strava 'pulls' your route onto any segments that it finds you riding close to even if you're not on them which can ffect distance and speed calculations.
missing 6km looks like it may just be a transmission error, though?
