Hi,
My annual Strava subscription is about to expire and I was wondering if it is time to downgrade to the package that only gives you Live Segments (the "Analysis Pack").
I would like to have a platform to help me train more constructively for XC/M but sadly can't justify much outlay right now - any suggestions (Training Peaks vs Trainer Road etc)?
I have never trained properly before and this is mostly for fun, but want to get out of the habit of doing too much effort and then burning out, and actually see some sustained improvement..
Thanks!

Trainerroad is (or was) turbo only. I've not used Training Peaks.

Today’sPlan gives you loads of options for personalised training plans and the analysis is available to you as well while your paying. Not necessarily a Sub either, you can buy a one off six week plan and leave it at that if you want.

Also auto downloads to Zwift as workouts.

I started using training peaks as a workout manager and to keep track of fitness, form and fatigue, especially weekly tracking of training load. Much better as a training tool than strava, which is not really designed for that. When strava summit ran out I didn't renew because I couldn't justify it just for fun. Try the training peaks basic for free, upgrade if you want the premium features. On my experience you need the premium to get the most out of it. I've also used the purchased training plans to great effect, and there's tonnes of choice. Good luck!

My personal recommendation would be TrainerRoad. I've been using it for the last couple of seasons and have certainly seen improvements. If you follow the Base, Build and Speciality phases for a particular discipline (XC) it'll be a lot more constructive than hammering yourself chasing KOM's on Strava. Strava seems to be losing its appeal for me, it just doesn't seem to offer much on any of its platforms.
TrainingPeaks Premium seems expensive for what you get and to me it isn't worth the money unless you're really anal about analysing macronutrients and the such like. They offer training plans but they're an extra layout, often in excess of £100.
If you can scrape together the money for TrainerRoad, go for it. It's probably the best all-rounder if you want a little more structure to your training.
