My Giant TCR has a teardrop profile seatpost and I want a **small** rear light I can mount/remove quickly, so I think the rubber strap designs may work best. But, I guess, I want one which interfaces with a sharp trailing edge of the seatpost.
Any ideas?
I've got knog plus lights on my propel and planet X stealth. Both with year drop posts.
Another thing to consider would be under seat mounted lights.
Yellow foam off some local scaffolding, a knife and a normal seat tube/rubber band mount.
Works fine.

Failing that I’m sure exposure do a teardrop mount, might have to buy an exposure rear light though.
The see sense lights come with a clever aero seatpost mount. Easy to mount/remove as well.

Hmm, good idea. Any reason why scaffolding foam? Is it particularly dense or something?

Pretty sure my Exposure TraceR has a sort of hinge arrangement on the bracket that would allow it to work. If nobody else gives you an answer by tomorrow drop me a message then and I'll have a look for you.

Exposure does one for my Tracer but I'm too tight to buy it and had some Sugru sitting around and molded that to the bracket and Seatpost. Did have the foresight to wrap some cling film around the post first.
Slightly more old school than a TCR but this Cateye fits my 80s Campag Athena aero post (mine’s a few versions older, doesn’t have the motion sense).

I 3D printed a fitting for one of my lights to go from regular round to teardrop shape, but that's not necessarily a solution for everyone!

The moon lights come with a special hinged bracket that allow it to fit on aero seat posts.
I have a lezyne something or other.
It’s actually designed for aero seatposts.
It was about £30 and has many modes including ‘daybright’ if that matters to you.
I’m reasonably sure the exposure rear lights use a similar arrangement to facilitate ease of use with aero posts.
I've just bought his & hers MagicShine SeeMee 200's. These come with a rubber strap that will go around most seatposts. Also included is a mount for the saddle rails that can be left in position. The light itself is on a bayonet mount. Astonishingly bright, has a downlighter that illuminates the back of the bike in low light & a brake light function which I've switched off on ours. about 10 different modes to suit conditions.
One downside is that if you ride in a group others will get annoyed by its brightness.
For 40 quid I'm well chuffed.

I have one and it's fine. I also use either a saddle rail mounted Cateye light or a seatstay mounted Cateye Rapid X. I always ride with two rear lights.

It works a treat.
It's a fit and forget rather than easy to remove style but the wedge shape of the bracket works very well with the trailing edge of the seatpost.
what about one of the saddle mounted lights? i bought one of the cube lite II things, there’s a recent thread on the Xite 100 round version. £18 on amazon.
