I'm going to set my do-it-all bike up as 1 x 10.

Is anybody using a Straitline Silent Guide for everything?

Anything I need to be aware off? Is it any more draggy than a roller style guide? I currently have the bike set up 2x10 with a Blackspire stinger which is fine.

Thanks

I run one. very good, not skipped a chain in the last year. i would say less draggy than a roller one,
got an e-thirteen ls with roller on my other bike and once the rollers get old they dont run very well...

highly recommended.

+1 got one last month, fitted my Meta unlike MRP/E13s I've tried on it, installing was a breeze too.

I run one on my 5, its good once you space it out properly, quiet and safe.
had major issues with it in the alps on my 224 though...which is where i learned to space it out proper like..

same a carlphillips.

I had one on my Alpine for a bit and was flawless. Then moved it to my Five after selling the Alpine and once you get the spacing set, its perfect. Pedalling over roots and rocks and hasnt missed a beat yet.

Would recommend.

Great, thanks.

Am I right in thinking there is nothing that sticks out behind the boomerang? I'm fitting it to a Tracer 2 and there's hardly any clearance between where the back of the boomerang will be and the lower link.

You are correct, the back is flush.

It's the only guide at the time I could find to fit my Nomad properly, probably for the same reasons you are experiencing, everything fouled the lower VPP link.
