Anybody ride one of these?

How do they ride, any thoughts would be welcome, as looking to buy.

I've had a razz on Tazzy's Ti one at last year's mayhem. Set up single speed. Felt good. Like to try the steel version

Had the prototype, got a sightly tweaked v2 titanium ss only. Its a stonkingly fast and engaging ride, particualry in fast and flowy single track. Stooge will be at malverns with Speedball's mk3's etc... For demo, my taz special ti will be there as well for a few people to play on etc...

@rc10 other than Andy and I who the originals were built for, there's 3-4 other folks who have a speedball at the moment (the 2 proto's and a couple of special order titanium's) the pre-orders are going out this week though so more folks will be able to give feedback soon

Yeah will give him a shout nearer the time. I have a 29plus rear wheel so I'm thinking I can make a build with that as a Base haha

@tazzymtb i saw you rode the dirty reiver on your titanium ss, would the steel speedball be suitable for this as well?

@rc10 hell yeah, was at the reiver last year on the prototype with proto taz-bahs on it with only a couple of short rides to check the build before the event and it was ace. This year was on the final version and it was even better. The steel is just a bit heavier and slightly less "zingy" but that's not a bad thing. I ended up with a steel Jones over a ti one as I actually preferred the ride having owned both.ย  If i just had a steel speedball I wouldn't be feeling short changed and it would be still be hoofed around event single speed ๐Ÿ™‚

@tazzymtb how does it ride compared to the Jones? People seem to rave about the Jones.

so the other question i'd have would be how does the speedball compare to the original stooge?

first ride this morning,

i'm loving it,it's a bit like a cross between a monster truck and bmx

did a couple of downhills, where i'm normally grimacing with fear, instead i was giggling on this.

unfortunately no idea how to put pics on

How much does the frame weigh? And the fork for that matter. From what I recall the mk3 stooge frame weighs nearly 7lb which seems really heavy for a rigid frame (I know weight isn't everything, but still that does seem porky). Is it all about the look ( i think both stooge frames look great) or does all that extra tubing make a difference?
