[#7990820]

Got the dreaded phone call from Abigale this afternoon. Garage roller door has been jacked and two bikes taken whilst alarm was going off. She didnt manage to get out of the house fast enough to catch them. Two youths legging it up the lane, no pedals on bikes. Taken from Darfield area, S Works Stumpjumper and S Works Enduro. Police responses fast, as was the helicopter but not managed to catch them. Just looking through ctv now. Keep an eyeout please. Pics to follow but they are distinctive.

I will keep an eye out. Mate had his van broken into nearby (thurnscoe) last night. He confronted them and they slashed his face and arm with a stanley knife. Utter scumbags.

Oh FFS. ๐Ÿ™

I assume one was Abigale's new bike and the Enduro your new bike?

Kevins and Katies. Latest pics, the Stumpjumper had Superstar carbon wheels, white Onone carbon bars and odd XT brakes.

Taken last week in Verbier, got an Ohlins shock fitted

I'd go a little further, myself.

I'd go a lot further. Think we were seen unloading from the Alps on Sunday. Video footage from Sunday and today both show some distinctive white trainers.
Not told Katie yet and Abigale is in a bit of a mess, upset that she couldn't catch them

Probably best that she didn't. Bikes, despite our emotional attachment to them, are easily replaced. Who knows what might have happened. Sounds like a planned, targeted hit, sadly, and I'd suspect they'd have been willing to 'defend their haul'.

However, here's hoping you can get them back and that the thieving scrotes have their scrotes removed. With a rusty saw.

I work on Stockport Station t'other side of the pennines but I'll keep my eyes peeled, I've caught a few bike thieves in my time.

Were you insured?

No further update. Police still looking. Insured but still got to put a big wedge towards getting a like for like on bikes.
New door on order with greater security in garage also on order.

Just heard about this today via kenny.

Hope you get it sorted soon. Probably best Abigale didn't catch them as she was rubbish when she had a spider in her room in verbier. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Don't give up on getting them back. Police found my bike overy a year after it was taken.

Stand firm with the insurance Co and make sure you get what you are entitled to, I probably knew my policy better than insurance Co did when I was claiming.

Thanks, police have circulated photos of bikes and have the video footage which is very clear.
The insurance company have been good so far.
Finding it difficult to get over at the moment. Will feel a bit better once garage is beefed up and more secure.
Didn't let it spoil the weekends riding at Inners but now sporting a big bruise on my for arm. Four weeks in the Alps and not one crash, so Im blaming the weekend weather.
