there seem to be a few more and more stolen bikes of late

should we have a seperate aection as the posts on the main bike section soon get lost
just needs all pertinent details, bike description, photos etc, frame number etc etc especially as one or two have appeared on ebay

Do what I did and set up a blog to list ones in your area:

http://www.stolenbristolbikes.com/

As far as a national database of stolen bikes goes, the closest thing currently seems to be www.immobilise.com - it's not searchable by the general public, which puts the kibosh on any interweb lynch mob action, but the police use it and a couple of people have been reunited with their bikes that way.

Clearly any thief or fence worth half a brain (questionable) is going to get rid of them outside the area.

would be bloody great as you could search for a frame number if you were viewing private/ebay sales etc.

really good idea I think. ๐Ÿ™‚
